Putting weights in my back pockets was not my original idea. I had
heard women and men were doing that to qualify for lap-band operations.
They wanted to weigh more so they could get the procedure.
When I was very thin I walked into a new-to-me Pilate's studio and the
rich women there ooh-ed and ahh-ed about my weight. Really. Then, as I
practiced intuitive eating, I gained more weight and have stayed the same
for a few years now.
My clients have asked me to teach them intuitive eating. This is
difficult to do. I close my eyes and differentiate between my head and
body. I ask my stomach what it needs a picture comes to my mind. I
trust that image because it is never one of ice cream or french fries.
It is always real, healthy food.
Here is what I have have been eating for dinner for two years, off and
on.
(My sisters and I are allergic to wheat and diary. We all have the same
blood type.)
FOOD OF THE GODS for one.
1.Boil a package of rice pasta
2.Microwave a lot of broccoli and onions.
3.Cut-uo a clove a garlic into thin pieces (use a razor-blade like in Godfather II)
4.Put good olive oil in a wok.
5.Heat up oil high.
6.Put in garlic, then broccoli and onions.
7.Stir for one minute and turn off heat. Put the wok lid on to let it steam naturally.
8. Heat up marinara sauce.
Put all of this in a bowl with some of the pasta and with fresh fish or some protein that you like.
9. Sprinkle nutritionally yeast liberally.
10. Try to savor it slowly. Try not to wolf it down.
Oh yes, serve it in a bowl. I eat it with chopsticks. There is something about eating from a bowl that is very satisfying.
Sometimes it takes me a whole hour to finish the boowl.
Sureley this is the stuff of life. Food for the goddesses. I am blessed.
