I recently taught an Eradicate Anxiety class here in Santa Barbara. It was good for me to put myself out there and good for the community as it is timely and it was very low cost. Anyone could have afforded it.
The class was all skills. Some of them were mine and most were from Tom Stone's book, Vaporize Your Anxiety. Tom Stone is a Master Coach who works for executives, teaching them Pure Awareness techniques that are covered in Vaporize Your Anxiety and also, Pure Awareness. Getting into our innate Pure Awareness and spending longer and longer time there is the final goal, because this state is the part of us that embodies peace, stillness, and a lively quietness.Spending time there can bring us into clarity, action, and creativity.
I know this sounds meditative and it is, except practicing these skills 2x day takes about ten minutes which is great for a non-meditator like me. Actually, his exercises remind me of a Yoga Nidra meditation which I personally find torturous, except I love the flood of great ideas that come to me at the finish.
Google Vaporize Your Anxiety and use the audio guides to take you through the key exercices and buy the books, which lays them all out for you. Tom Stone is very generous in this way. These skills take practice so that they can take you more deeply into unknown and interetesting territory.
And the biggest point is to practice them so you can get a handle on your anxiety whether you have a disorder, or whether our current economy is getting to you in an anxious way.
I've being researching about Anxiety and reading your blog, I found your post very helpful. I thought I would leave my first comment. Well said. These days everybody is busy in his works. We have time for all the things except taking care of our heath. Thats why untill we realize that it has been too late. And there are many things which are giving us tension in our daily life. Many reasons to loose your health. But we have to make sure to keep visiting our doctors.
